Initial timing set..........

Well, I finally got around to digging out the timing light to set my initial timing from 10BTDC to 14, to see if my 92 f250/460efi would run a little better.

I warmed up the truck to normal temp, shut it off, unhooked the spout connector, fired it up and set the timing to 14btdc, shut it off, put the spout back in and started the truck and rechecked the timing. It idles at around 30btdc, is this normal? It seems to run well and no pinging

I live at about 5800ft elevation.

Thanks

It will read higher with the spout connector replaced, remove the spout and double check, sometimes when the distributor is tightened down, it can move the timing some. If it looks good, take a test drive and go from there.

Yes that is normal that is why you have to unplug the spout because its an electronic advance.
