Started with fuel delivery with their g surge sump/pump. Ran but stalled constantly. Got through that with a new aeromotive pump. Had an rf interference code. They informed me my MSD 7 wouldnt work with the ecu. Good to know because it is nowhere in their literature. So, new ignition box. Past that. Then no start unless gas was held halfway down, plumes of black smoke. Wideband code. O2 sensor. Replaced. Same thing. Was told I needed to send it back at that point to be checked. Called Summit, they said send it back and we'll give you a refund. Love Summit. Managed to sell old MSD, aeromotive pump, refund on efi minus 80 bucks restock. So, most of my cash back. Lost a lot of hours of my life and truck down for three months. Experiment over. Rant over. I know some people have had good luck. I didn't.

Hey, I noticed you appear to have a high rise intake. I know that the Motor Trend Roadkill guys tried a Holley EFI system and when they ran it on a dual plane high rise intake it wouldn't work worth a damn and had tons of problems. They had to switch to a low rise single plane intake and then it worked great.
You get socked 80 dollars for a restock. How does that work on a faulty part? It is not getting restocked by any reputable company. I would fight this blarney but most likely yer over it.
They did. And I had it for three months. Didn't feel like the 80 bucks was a big deal at that point. Otherwise it was going in the trash. Couldn't sell it, as it obviously had issues. And at this point didn't want it back after Fitech " fixed" it. Drank the efi koolaid. All done.
I have nothing but a heading with my QuickFuel(owned by Holley) carb. I have a Mechanical Double pumper on a 347 crate and 4r70w trans. I can't keep the tuning consistent.
I had no issues with my carb really. Little rich at idle because of the cam. New stroker this year and ran great. Buddy that builds cars talked me into the efi. Started using a wideband for carb tuning quite a few years ago and have no issues with tuning. Jet change from summer to winter.
Yes, I was surprised they took it back. Last ditch effort that I didn't expect to work. Just told them the issues I had, and how into it I was for a non running vehicle. Probably helped that I built a new engine last year with just about everything but the shortblock from them. They got about every extra dime I could squeeze for a year. They track it in your account.
And maybe they're seeing a lot of negative feedback and people not having good luck with the units and have just started doing a virtual no-questions-asked return on them. With their agreement with the manufacturer, they can probably return just about anything under any circumstances if they force the issue.
They're pretty good about taking care of their customers with their extra power, so maybe they're just using it in this case.
Either way though, glad you "resolved" the issue too. I like them myself, and so far (knocking on wood!) our customers have had very few of the issues I hear about. Not that they've been perfect for us either, but the percentage of bummers is pretty low so far.
We did have major customer issues with their Command Center setup. Seemed to work ok on some cars, but most of the Bronco customers we sold them to had delivery problems up the wazoo.
Oh, and regarding that issue with the manifolds niko20, it's a legit concern. But in our experience with a few of the TBI setups so far, the FiTech has so far been the most forgiving of intake design. The MSD Atomic was very good, but the FiTech was better. The Edelbrock was, unfortunately, poopy doopy when it came to that though. So much so that most of our customers (low-rise, low rpm type intakes for most) had tuning issues from the get go. To their credit, Edelbrock took them all back too. Used or not.
I actually kept one myself, for use on my F350. We kind of wanted to find out if they were all just crappy, or if it could have been a case of installer error in some cases. So I've got one of the returned units that would not run correctly for the customer, waiting to go on my 400.
We will see... I'm getting kind of impatient to have some more time to work on my own truck for that reason!
