So I just got a '93 Bronco. Guy told me the torque converter was diagnosed by a shop as slipping and I agree after driving it home. My question is would it be stupid to just toss the torque converter from my '93 F150 in it? F150 shifted fine. Just got parted out after I destroyed the front axle being stupid. With this being Wisconsin the 2WD e4od didn't sell so its been sitting in my garage collecting dust so I wouldn't be heartbroken over the thought of robbing it of its TQ. I'd of course do I actual trans fluid flush as well, just to be safe.
Do NOT just take his word for it. You should do a proper diagnosis on your own if you are capable or have a reputable transmission tech look at it. In your Bronco, you need to check stored codes in the computer, check the condition of the fluid. Start there before you just throw parts at it.
It feels like a slipping converter. It doesn't slip between gears it just lags on actually getting going
I know I can't see your truck over the internet but I am positive that the torque converter is not the issue here. Sounds like a defective filter or o ring on the filter letting air get sucked in, or less likely you've got some worn clutch packs.

Sadly you are right. Lost reverse today. It tries to go forward in park. Damn shame its such a pain to make a 2wd trans a 4wd trans or I'd be set. Any idea what year(s) e4od I can put in it?

Small chance that the manual lever position sensor is out of adjustment or the shift linkage is messed up. But otherwise yeah, might be time for a rebuild. You should stick with the same year, however there are lots of internal upgrades from 1995 onwards that greatly improve the E4OD. A good transmission shop/Ford dealer can get it done right.
My buddy has a e4od chilling in a parts truck that I know is good and he said I can just have it but I can't remember for the life of me what year it is. I doubt its the lever as it still moves forward (horribly, but it does). Its only park and reverse that act truly weird as far as that goes.
