I need help. My 69 F100 will not run. It will turn over it fires it runs for 10 seconds and then dies. I have replaced the fuel pump. I have rebuilt the carb. I have replaced sparkplugs. It sat for a year and did not run. It has manual choke. For the past 30 years it fired immediately. Please tell me what to check next. thanks Js
Check the rubber fuel line under the cab. Or the one at the pump. Either could be collapsing and cutting the fuel off. Check the gas cap too, it needs to vent or it won't let the pump draw vacuum.
How quick will it restart? Once it quits, pump the throttle and see if you get gas out accel pump of carb. That will nail down if fuel or electrical issue.
As "Freightrain" stated once you find out if it's fuel or electrical issue; IF it's electrical, and If you still have the points type of ignition system, replace the condenser- with a Ford/MotorCraft one Condenser..C9AZ12300A (DC13A) Available from Ford.
