What options for rear heated seats and other questions about a Lariat order
Hi all,
New here. A couple of weeks ago (Feb 21st actually) we ordered a 2018 F250 CC Lariat. While we're excitedly waiting for it to arrive (me for the truck, wife so we can bring home the new fifth wheel we bought) the wife asked me what I thought should be a simple question, but I can't find the right answer for it:
According to the spec sheets, they're listed as being optional in the Lariat trim, but I haven't been able to find any descriptions in the various build and price options to indicate whether or not we picked the right options to get them included. We're not going to change the order, this is more just for our own curiosity, but any insight would help.
Secondly, while browsing this site I learned about DORA, Cotus, etc... We do have a DORA as we're leveraging the wife's supplier discount X-Plan, but I haven't been able to dechiper what my dealer code is. The DORA shows it as "B6 046 Ken Knapp Ford Sales". Cotus doesn't accept the space, and it doesn't accept it as just "B6046" since it says it needs 6 characters. Any idea how to figure out the right dealer code?
Thanks for all the help!
Mike

Are you able to see your window sticker? It's a $300 option on the Lariat. It's actually one I watch out for, because it means that the truck has the 40/console/40 front seat, and I am specifically looking for the 40/20/40 front seat. I don't see any codes on window stickers that do have it as an option, such as this one: http://www.windowsticker.forddirect....Fd4o5uarG08%3D

Correct. It is not standard on a Lariat, even a Lariat Ultimate. Its a cheap option and a nice one for your rear passengers. The buttons have two settings and are located on the back of the center console and illuminate at night. You'll find the rear heated seats (which use a standard wire grid resistance heater) get substantially hotter than the front "heated cooled" seats which use a TED.

Thanks for the insight. If it requires the centre console, then we definitely don’t have it. We’ve needed the 6th seat a time or two in the 1/2 ton, so we had ordered the Lariat with the bench. Guess the kids will have to live without it.
And even if we had gone with the centre console, we still probably wouldn’t have had it if it needed to be specifically requested. The dealer built it exactly like I provided to him from the Build & Price site. Neither Ford.ca nor Ford.com shows an option for the rear heated seats while building it with the Build & Price tool, that’s why I thought it might have been bundled in something else.

Yeah, unfortunately you need the console. But interestingly, the previous generation offered heated rear seats as well (at least on the highest trims) and these switches were located on the door panels. I thought that was much classier. Below is my 2017 with heated rear seat switches, and then my previous 2016 King Ranch with heated rear seat switches, just FYI...

In Canada in 2017 at least it came standard with the ultimate package. I saw a thread recently where someone had added heated seats to the front seats and seemed like it was a fairly easy install, not sure about the back, where to install the switch might be the tricky part. One thing I didn't know is that once the seats are on even in the folded position. My daughter hopped out and put the seat up and the heater stayed on and kind of redesigned the seat pattern a bit :-) An automatic shut off when in the folded position would have been a good idea, anyway lesson learned.
