What would you do?
On Aug. 17 we ordered an F 550 lariat. Today I saw it for the first time.
We speced 40 console 40 front seats. Truck has split bench in it. No rear a/c no rear usb no rear 110v outlet. some very key items we wanted. not to mention the flip up seat storage is practicly useless. Rest of the truck is ok. Noting the doors are catywhampus but can be adjusted. Special order truck ordered wrong by the dealer. for pity sakes when you run the build and price web page it shows 40 console 40 10 way seats as standard.
I ask again, What would you do?

Tell them to keep it. Its not what you wanted ordered. When I ordered mine the dealer said they could order it right now over the phone. I said no I will come in. Good thing I did. They forgot 3 options I wanted and I was ordering a pretty basic truck. We went through the list 3 times then hit the order button.

Spose your both right. sold my 08 550 today now Im afoot. Sure is disappointing. This is not your run of the mill 550. 84" cab to axle crew cab lariat. Nav running boards the whole enchilada. 4X4 Max traction tires we missed nothing. Custom bed went into the paint shop last Wedensday. should be here Friday. had this all planned out. Thanks to a guy on here I even got a POC.
But due to an error by someone at the dealership, looks like we will be ordering an 18. And the wait starts over.

I can tell you exactly what I would do, as the same thing happened to me. No console on my S/O truck so I refused the truck and asked for my deposit back.
In Canada we have to special order the console for the Lariat, which I did. My salesman thought it came with the truck and Ford was just charging me an extra $460 for leather seats (which come standard on the truck :-) so he didn't add it to the order. They also missed the remote start for the same reason, which wasn't the end of the world but no console (as well as all the other amenities it brings to the truck that you mentioned) was a deal breaker for me. The dealer thought I was crazy to let the truck go but I felt the same as you. I special ordered the truck, they made a mistake and after the long wait I wasn't just going to cave and take a truck I didn't want for 70 grand.

I don't understand why the dealers would be shocked that a person would not just take the truck anyways even though it is not what the person ordered. Do they not realize they make new trucks everyday! So yeah you have to wait again but it's better than settling. If they would just pay attention and order it correctly we wouldn't have this problem.

You could always try to make the dealer give you a whale of a deal. That special order truck is likely hard to sell. But if the console is very important, I guess you'll have to start all over. They can be retrofitted, but getting the rear seat A/C vents and power plugs is hard to add.
