Having a vibration intermittently at 1500 rpm regardless of gear, mostly when cold after several miles will generally go away and sometimes doesn't do it at all. Had tranny cooler added a while ago and seemed to help with temp., but is now getting hot without much effort when towing.
Thanks
It isn't a bad idea to check the u-joints, but they are not the cause of a vibration at 1500 RPM regardless of gear. U-joints will cause vibrations at specific road speeds, not specific engine RPMs.
The vibration and excessive heat are not necessarily related.
The vibration will go away.
While towing the boat (12k lbs) the other day I don't recall the vibration, but the tranny got hot rather quick and no hills, it was only a 25 min trip.
I have noticed that if you stomp it, the vibration goes away before it really even accelerates?
