I didn’t mean to **** off all the aircraft repair guys. I Understand the practice. I have a degree in structural engineering with a minor in material science. I was just trying to make a joke.
Looks like you should have totally turned on the sarcasm filter. LOL
That was what I was thinking. That hitch... smh. Dayum...

Find a shop that is Tesla certified. They should be able to take care of the aluminum.
Sucks that you got wrecked with NO FAULT of your own..
I'll be without mine for 2.5 months because some yahoo ran into me also...
Yeah I'm fine and thank you for the concern. I was stopped in a construction zone and the guy hit me going 60mph, no skid marks whatsoever. He was driving a small late 90's olds and went up underneath me. I think if I was still driving my '12 F-250 he probably would've been killed as that truck sat quite a bit lower. As soon as I can figure out how to transfer pics from my new phone to the computer I'll post a picture of the car. Still can't believe he walked away with minor cuts and bruises.
This same thing happened to me the day I brought the truck home. Be careful on those corner sensors they don't detect corners very well. I never should have been backing it up considering how dark it was. Stupid. Anyway, the worst part of this was the plastic part you mentioned was back ordered so I had to wait a couple months to get it fixed. My mechanic, who has been working with aluminum for years, stretched the panel out, smoothed it all, welded the small tear together, and repainted it. I think the whole job cost me about $800. I paid out of pocket. This was Dec 2016 it was fixed and it still looks fantastic. I replaced the crappy factory bumper with a 115 lbs heavy steel thing. I've posted pics before but I'm too lazy now. It sucks that happened to you.
I've never damaged my own vehicles before this truck and it's happened 3 times all with me doing something stupid. I must be cursed.
cant wait to see picks of the car that went under.
Same. I was hit head-on by a drunk driver back in the early 1990's. They put our closing speed at 90+ mph and the drunk actually swerved into me no matter where I tried to go to get out of his way. Was driving a company F150 at the time. Bent the thing in half so that the rear wheels weren't even touching the ground, shearing the bolt holding the transmission to the frame. It's by the grace of God I'm still here today. So... 60+ mph into you at a dead standstill - still had to be a massive jolt to you. Glad everyone walked away.
