"military grade aluminum" the military bids contracts out to the lowest bidder so.....

jk, that totally sucks though. I had a hobo ride his bicycle right into the rear corner of the bedside, thankfully no damage. He was cruising too lol.

Well, my damage was caused by significant weight breaking loose because I was, frankly, an idiot. 200 gallon water tank, weighing ~1,700 pounds, broke loose of strapping at tailgate and slammed forward into the wall when I had to stab the brakes. I'm lucky it didn't cause damage to the cab too. There would've been no damage if I hadn't been lazy and had the tank all the way forward. *edit* It's a bit embarrassing to share my mistake but am hoping it helps others. I certainly learned a few things from it about these aluminum beds.

Touched a tree the other day
Dealer wants $1245 to fix lol. They won't sell me the left side. Only the entire bumper (both crome pieces for $350).
So o got the entire bumper from ebay for $260
I hit a lot harder in the same tree and concrete posts before with my 2000 without any damage
Can't belive how thin this bumper is

When I hauled my own heating fuel (200gal) I was always concerned with some of our fellow drivers causing me to plant myself on the brakes. Thankfully, the trip was only a few miles and I could avoid rush hour traffic. Anyway, you live, you learn. Glad you were able to get the truck bed fixed.

Complete front end replacements from ranch hand on my 2001 F350 CCLB. Has taken quite a beating but has held up very wrll

This is the dent from ripping off the Dodge’s rear bumper. I think this Debby is actually from hitting his bed. Minor damage on my side compared to his.

Minor scratches from the Tiguan getting crushed. My 2” ball hitch (not in right now) went thru her radiator and pushed in the front of her engine block so I’m assuming the hitch is what took the majority of the impact. When I pulled forward after the accident, my drop hitch was dragging radiator pieces, hoses, bumper pieces etc. The cops were impressed how little damage I had (and so was I!)

Full coverage. When I get my ‘19, I’ll probably order the ranch ha nds powder coated to the accent color. I’ve seen some really nice KR’s with same setup.

Does the ranch hand bumpers affect the airbag or other sensors?

When I called Ranchhand, they claimed the new versions incorporate all sensors. But I haven’t dug deep enough into this yet to be knowledgeable on how the new bumpers work or what’s needed for all the sensors.

Thank you for the pics! Also good to know about the RH's incorporating all sensors. Looks like I'm going to have to see what shipping for a set up to Alaska will cost.

I got rear ended by an uninsured motorist. He hit me so hard it forced me into the vehicle in front of me and I was 20ft back. Had the truck for 23 days before this. $9000 in damage and thankfully the frame was ok.

Dannnnnnng! Did you have uninsured motorist protection with your company? They going after him with lawyers? That'd be enough to make a guy real angry...

Yeah I have uninsured motorist coverage on my policy and yeah I was pi$$ed beyond belief. Guy said he fell asleep at the wheel but I found out later what he really was but I won't go into that. Apparently people buy insurance for the month when their license plates are due then let it lapse. It's a lot bigger problem than everyone thinks so be careful out there. Not privy to what my insurance company is pursuing with regards to him.

Wow- that’s a hard hit! Hope the truck is back to normal!

The guy that caused my accident I described above was also an uninsured driver. In fact, he wasn’t licensed, nor legal to be in the states. But fake ID’s, no insurance, etc are only misdemeanors in Texas so he wasn’t arrested and just let go. Cops said it happens all the time here.

Thank you. Looks like the ranch hand did live up to its reputation.

Damn, TC... you got hit hard to taco that hitch!! You OK?
Find a shop that is Tesla certified. They should be able to take care of the aluminum.
Sucks that you got wrecked with NO FAULT of your own..
I'll be without mine for 2.5 months because some yahoo ran into me also...
