i was looking at the ford accessories website and they’re showing only one hood/bug deflector that’s not chrome. It uses the 3m adhesive tape to attach to the hood, whereas before there was another that was held on with some screws and clips.
Does anyone have the one that sticks on? How is the fit and quality, and are the “superduty “ letters inset or raised? Thanks.

I can speak to the quality. I asked the parts this question when ordering mine. They said same design and quality as one on my 2016 F-150. I must admit it’s held up quite well. 3M holds well. Not sure on the SD Letters but I believe their inset.
Skip the Ford site. Get yourself an Aeroskin. I've had several. Put on properly, they do not come off. I've had them on 3 trucks that made many trips through a car wash. Never a problem.
Check realtruck.com or AutoAnything. I think you'll find better prices and several non chrome options.

all accurate and true however you can’t beat the price for a 3 year warranty if applied by ford at time of purchase.

To each their own. But for something as low cost as what I paid for an Aeroskin, a 3 year warranty with a jacked up price because it came from a Ford dealer isn't all that important.
What's the first thing they're going to say if you come in with a busted bug shield? You did it, road hazard, car wash, not on us. Plus, it's installed to my satisfaction. Not a detailer just out of high school.

I went with the Aeroskin Matte Black. I couldn’t bring myself to spend double the cost for the Ford one.

I have the dark not so transparent black Ford SD deflector. The 3m automotive grade tape is strong, just make sure you use alcohol to prep and remove any wax prior to install. I even lifted off and repositioned a couple of times to get it as straight as I could. Fit is near perfect and the letters are raised.
It's 1/32 of an inch off center and it's bugging the heck outta me, because my older brother would give me a wet-willie for not using blue tape to mark the centers during the dry fit......😂
So if the letters are raised, the Tufskinz stick on letters won't work...correct?
I can't speak from personal experience, but it's my understanding that the TufSkinz will stick on the raised letters of the Ford SD deflector just fine (the one with the 3M automotive grade tape).

I have the Ford OEM Chrome bug shield. I'm not a chrome fan but this chrome piece balances out the chrome bumper and grill.
I ordered it via internet form an online Ford dealer about 18 months ago. About 2 months ago the metal attachment brackets were rusting. My Local Ford dealer just needed the invoice from the online dealer and replaced it for free under warranty. The new one has a new part number and a modified coated bracket that wont rust. 3 Year Ford warranty worked.

Well you can buy them online for less than dealer. Like mine quite a bit. Prefer it to the others and I looked at them all -- like the super duty inset as well.
I went with the AVS Aeroskin 2....matte finish to match the rest of the black in the front. Tapes on and seems to be doing a good job deflecting small rocks and the many bugs we have on the highway down here. No wind noise or turbulence at the base of the windshield either. $89 bucks installed at a local shop.
