I bought a 97 f150. Didn't know it had a cracked head. Now I need to fix it. I'm going to try blue devil then if that don't work. Replacing head. Any link to replacing that would be helpful. It has the 4. 5
1st, verify you have a cracked head....
2nd....Pour in sealers are ok for a very short temp fix....but that's it........
3. The head is very likely repairable by a machine shop or someone who has real heliarc experience.........then a machin shop will need to do a partial valve job.....resurfacing the head, etc.

and she will be good as new!
1. I don't have that kind of cash.
2. It's the 4.6
3. The blur devil worked.
I have had pretty good long term fix by using Bars Leak Copper ........... please post back in a few months if the Blue Devil is still holding and verify no other problems develop.
bars leak copper works huh, man i really never believed in this witchcraft snake oils, but maybe they do work, ive always just faced the music and did the work required. might be a good option for a quick flip on a vehicle.
If your using a quart of coolant in a month or so, then the sealers are a good bet....... If your using a quart in a couple days, or you can see it running a solid stream on the floor, then NO its too late.
