Why my turbo doesn't make any sound? it sound like it doesn't have turbo.
Also the engine is to loud like 5.9 Cummins.
Very slow on take off , most of the time the boost get fixed in 5 psi, while the rpm get higher .
The turbo is not sticky - no codes -in gral it runs great but louder and lazy on take off.
It was in the dealer but it passes all the tests......

Reason: speeling
Take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it like a dealer should.
Making only 5 psi passing a test does not make. They should know better. Pretty low standard for passing a test IMO.
If you want to for starters, check the MAP hose and nipple for gumming up/residue.
Are all the CAC boots free of tears and tight?

Boost maxing at 5 psi is not normal. Take it back.
If you want to check the system for leaks. Take the air cleaner and intake tubing off up to the turbo inlet and use a rubber fernco coupling with a cap that has a connector
for regulated air pressure. Set the regulator for no more than 25PSI and if at the same time you want to check the exhaust then also cap the end of the exhaust pipe also. Put air to it
and start feeling around all piped for any air leaking out. Also remove the cap on the degas tank just to be sure that you don't have any air going that way.
All looks ok ,my concern is why my truck sound like she doesn't have a turbo.
I don't heard any vacuum or blowing sound like all 6.0.
this is my 3rd 6.0 and I did not have this issue on my previous trucks.
She is getting 90 k miles and the engine is so clean -I check the MAP nipple and no carbon also I remove the EBP sensor and no carbon in the tube...
The turbo was replaced for a reman turbo before I bought the truck ....
question: can I put a 03 turbo with pedestal in a 05 ?
thanks all....

If it maxes at 5 psi it isn't passing all the tests. It just flunked that one.

You can use the 05 pedestal, just leave the back bolt out like others have. In fact I'll bet 50% are missing one bolt or another at some point.
It ain't going anywhere.
Have you actually removed the turbo from the truck to confirm it's not sticking? 90k whopping miles........low mileage garage queen is a good candidate for sticking vanes.
Like Mike says above, it most certainly does NOT pass the dealer test, unless they have the bar set so low that they either don't know, or don't give a crap
Edit: Shoot, if 29 is inHg it's fine. Jumped out at me and I didn't think before firing off because it was different than MAP. Book is in kPa (psi), but 29 is almost dead on for 1000' AMSL.
