E rated tires
Anyone else using 65psi load range e tires on their truck to pull a 5th wheel instead of the 80 psi? I ask because i forgot to look when i got new tires the other day and now this is what im stuck with. Any issues with blowing out or shifting belts? Im still within the weight limit but now only by 700lbs instead of 1500lbs.

What size are those 65 PSI tires? My Load Range E Nitto Duras are 65 PSI max tires but they are also much larger than my stock 80 PSI tires were. Mine are 305/70R18 (35X12.8) and so far with 22K towing miles (and a few more running solo) they are holding up and wearing very well. I tow a bumper pull TT, but it's a very big one (41') with a very heavy tongue (1860lbs) and our traveling rear axle weight runs 6200/6650 depending on the trucks load for the trip.

You must have a very light 5th wheel, with a light pin weight. Have you weighed your rig on a scale, to get a true weight, loaded and wet, and packed up to go camping? Hopefully you're not going off of the advertised "pin weight" that the manufacturer lists as unloaded weight. You could be in for a nasty surprise.

Ive weighed it. It is an ultra light 5th wheel. 34ft 9900 gvw. I cant tell you the actual pin weight because i didnt pull it off and re weigh but rear truck axle weight is 5700lbs and that was with an extra passenger that normally doest come with. And it was on the maiden voyage of that camper so all of the stuff was just pilled up by the door and not put away yet. I am planning to weigh again next time i head out in that direction.

weighting is a trustworthy way..
full rig and trailer....weight.. pull around back.. disconnect trailer.. re-weight truck..
Cat only charge one charge if both weights are within 24 hours...
my bumper trailer is 800 pounds more then both factory tags...
and I weighted it on the way home from the dealer I purchased it from,,, so it was truly empty.
and at 2 different cat scales... to make sure first scale was not wrong.
