I remember the old uploader (I think). I tried making a quick video to help illustrate what I'm talking about, maybe it will make more sense. If not then your computer guy will surely know what I'm on about.
Apparently what's being attempted here is to make the FTE site friendlier to mobile devices. Web mavens will call this "responsive design." Others may choose different words. Having dabbled in this business in the dim past, I can relate to the difficulties they are having. Still, there are ways to anticipate many of the problems I and others are seeing and getting them fixed before going public in a wholesale way.
For me on macOS (desktop) using Firefox, Chrome and Safari web browsers, I am unable to create any more posts due to the dysfunction of the uploader;. Drag and drop doesn't work at all and "from my device" allows only one image. I don't attempt to upload more than one image at a time. I prefer to upload an image then the accompanying text and then another image and so on. Very simple and it's worked for me for years now. It doesn't work for me anymore. Perhaps I just need to learn how to work with the changed rules of the road.
I have posted my issues to the thread on the new system at the top level of this site. The say that they are "working on it" which is encouraging.

Which is dumb since they have an app for that lol except now we can't upload pics. Just keep getting "500internal error"
I am a 110% lap top/PC kinda old guy, with a fairly newer lap top/OS and a real good PC. I just got into the smart phone thing like a week ago....and no way am I going to figure it out on that thing with these changes. Mobile ability is not really my issue, its more the lack of lap top and PC compatibility that the more mobile friendly changes. Is that fair?
Survey says what is the % of members that are doing FTE with mobile devices, and is it enough to warrant an upgrade to be more mobile friendly? I know what century we live in but.....

Is there a way to combine the two? Question to those IT tech guys. Or at least get some of the old way of doing things back?
TheMonson thanks for the video, almost to small to see what is going on, yes I had my glasses on. Still seems like a bunch of button clicking to me and the long way of doing things.

I suspect he means the mobile version. It sucks in that it's hard to figure out how to post pics. And that it's security is pretty poor. I regularly get redirected to sites that are quite breathlessly announcing that I've won the big prize! And because it will randomly drop you into the middle of a thread or at the tail end so that you think you are reading the correct thread but instead are reading a suggested thread that may not even be in the same forum.
I always request desktop site by long pressing the refresh arrow in the address bar in Safari.
The folks who are implementing these changes are apparently listening and trying to address our reports of dysfunction which may vary depending upon platform, browser and who knows what else. In my case (not being able to upload images), the issues have been resolved. I was able to update my build with a post containing 15 images.
So, in addition to reporting what is not working for you, also keep trying and let them know if and when you see improvement.
