I only have 400 miles on 6.2 XLT F350 CCSB but I have been playing with the stock radio trying to improve quality of music before I run out and spend $750-1000 on upgrades. FYI, My system is NOT a SONY (I have 7 speaker sync 3 with 8 touch screen)
A few observations in quality- over the air radio poorest, Sirius in the middle but still not that great and third will far exceed the others. I use spotify premium, I would say the quality of streaming spotify premium is 10 fold better than over air radio and sirius
I have found streaming makes the system tolerable at the very least, actually most genres of music are pretty decent for sure.
So, I think I will save the stereo upgrade money for now and get new shocks on the corners as a priority instead.
Just a thought- give a quality steaming service a try first ...other streaming services to try as well but free services will NOT be the same quality as a paid for service
In case your wondering..........Spotify premium is $14.99/ month for 5 people. I think its about $10/ month per single person
BAKADIT, I run both Spotify and Pandora, primarily Pandora. In case you're not aware, within the settings of both music aggregators there are equalizer settings that make a profound difference in the sound quality, in my opinion. Enough so that I'm delaying spending money for this upgrade for the time being and focusing on front bumper replacement and/ or full delete. Hopefully the equalizer top will help the sound quality. TXKR...can the equalizer settings be found in the free versions of these 2 services, or are they only available in the premium/pay versions?

6.2caribou... specific to Pandora (now as I go thru the process, Pandora settings aren't as extensive as Spotify) ...Settings. ...Advanced... check Higher Quality Audio.
Spotify....Home....Your Library... top right corner Gear icon into Settings... scroll down to Equalizer... click and customize to your preference, for the most part.
I have the same stereo as you, and I did exactly the same. I use Android Auto exclusively when driving, so Spotify Premium is really all I ever listen to. The stock stereo really isnt that bad, and I lasted longer than I thought I would with it. After about 8 months I couldnt take it anymore and added an amp and some Infinity Kappa Perfect 600's to the front. It really opened my eyes to how bad the stock was though. You sort of get use to mediocre sounds and think that its ok.
Now, bass wise...yea, I added 2 10" subs like 3 weeks after buying the truck. I just couldn't stand having no bottom end. Its all personal preference. All in all I added 6.5" components, 2 amps, 2 10" subs, a custom box and a new 8ohm center channel for under $1000 bucks. Totally worth it to me as I gotta have my tunes while jammin out in the desert. There's a thread here packed with audio upgrade info if you ever get the itch.
And BTW, I agree, get some good shocks first. The stockers are a travesty.
