351w high idle
New here. Just traded my stroker for a 1996 f350 351w 4x4 flat bed dually. It runs great other than an exhaust leak and high idle problem. I put all new plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor button on it today and that made it run even better, I also put a new idle air control valve on it hoping it would fix the high idle but no luck. When I unplug the iac when the truck is running it comes down to a perfect idle, but will eventually shut off. What would be the next thing to try? Also, while driving the truck will occasionally just cut down to an idle and backfire and carry on when I feather the fuel to try to get the rpm back up (because I am always in a bad place to pull over when this happens) But it hasn’t done it for a while and I am hoping that was an ignition issue. The back firing makes me think that ignition may have been the issue. Sorry if there is any thing on here that doesn’t make sense, it’s late lol
