It was a low battery. After letting the charger set on it a few hours it's acting fine. Thank for all the help. I couldn't have done it without all the help. You guys are the best.
thanks everyone. I've donee all the above. I even took in into the shop and they have no idea. Could it be the tension pulley? Maybe a weak spring? Thought I ask before I tossed out the cash. It's squeling about 10 sec after start-up and only lasts about 20 sec. Might just deal with it ... I just hate not fixing something the right way.

I read through this whole thread again, I do not see anything wrong with your setup either, except you have a very high output alternator on a single v-belt. You have to ask yourself why does my alternator put out so much juice each time I start my truck? I would say it's because the battery is demanding it. Why is that? Do you have to crank and crank your engine each time before it starts? Or is your battery old and needs replaced? You said the problem went away when you manually charged the battery. Do you have another battery you could swap in temporarily?
I took the bracket system from a 96 302,so its serpentine.
the battery is two months old. it showed 100% charge.
its on its second regulator. (just incase)
It starts very smooth.

HOT DAMN!!!! I figured it out, or rather the muffler guy did for me. When I switched brackets I took out the C10 till I get the whole system done. This left too much play in the belt from the alt to the power steering. I put the old C10 on it and Its running and starting like a dream. I want to thank everyone that hung in there with me thru this process. May good deeds come back to y'all 10 fold. Thank you all. Now to the next project of a radio and alarm.
