Greg, these engines just about outlast the trucks so I don't think many of us have bought rebuilds. I checked around and couldn't find anyone saying bad things about usdieselparts.com. They seem to be legit.

You already ordered it, but just like post 2 theres no negative feed back so a review from you would be great for future purchase from someone that is also looking lo buy a long block.
Good luck.

Adam,

How much did your rebuild parts and machine work end up costing? Would be a useful comparison to see the difference between buying a long block or doing the labor ourselves.

So I bought an E99 complete engine with low compression for $250, tore it down, sent block off to be bored, deck cleaned up. Machine work was $600 for 0.20" over, polish crank, true cam tunnel, magnaflux block etc. Full Ford rebuild kit including all bearings, gaskets, new oil cooler, o rings, glow plugs, sealant etc was $1,200 so I was in it $1,800. Sold parts off engine that I did not need. This did not include heads but I wanted engine for the forged rods really, did not decide on heads yet. So keep that in mind.

I dont remember exactly but I think it was between $2100-$2250 with me doing the rebuild. Rebuild kit alone was $1250 from Riffraff + $70? rod bushings that do not come in the kit, sleeved two cylinders that came out to $250 ouch! (i think i got screwed here), the rest went into polished crank, cam bearing install milling of head (twice, my originals got rusted on my storage shed after a roof leak) fully rebuild heads with new guides, new valves( i scored new old stock valves on ebay for $100) new valve seats, magnafluxing etc etc..... Not too bad. What screwed the price up was the rebuilding of the new heads that was another $250 i wasnt counting on and polishing the rusted cam as well it was all in the invoice got to find it to see the exact number.
