Code 558 EGR Vacuum regulator circut

Working on a 92 F-150 w/ 5.0.

Pulled KOEO code- 558( EGR vacuum regulator circut faulty) and
KOER 332 Insuf EGR flow.

Before I just replace EGR valve, anything I should check for? Should I just try to clean it first?
Vacuum hoses look good, no vacuum at idle.

My Chilton's manual is a joke on trying to diagnose this.

Code 558 EGR Vacuum regulator circut

Is code 558 for vacumn solenoid circuit ? If so follow green vacumn line from EGR valve to dodad (solenoid). Measure resistance thru the dodad after unplugging two wire connecter. Should be 15-45 ohms.This dodad is what the computer grounds to transfer vacumn to EGR valve. 332 code is probably caused by defective solenoid, no vacumn to solenoid, bad EGR position sensor ( white dodad on top of EGR valve with 3 wire connecter). You can have the engine idling and pull a vacumn on the EGR valve(where the green line ends), if the engine dies or runs real bad the valve is ok. There also needs to be manifold vacumn to solenoid on the red vacumn line. Hope this helps.
