Drilled and slotted rotors
Are they worth the money over stock, I have a 2013 RWD DRW and pull a big 5th wheel. My problem is heat buildup when towing and stopping when going slow in campgrounds and heavy traffic because Ford's wisdom of not letting the controller work until you get over 5 or so mph so the truck had to do all the stopping.

IMHO, slotted/drilled rotors are just “cheese-graters” for the brake pads, because they are there to relieve gases that the brake linings produce during "racing" conditions which slotted/drilled rotors are designed to relieve.....and can induce/allw for cracking during high heat conditions....this is why you will not see crossdrilled/slotted rotors on fire engines.....and they take a much bigger beating than you or most big rig truckers would ever put on their brakes.
If you have a concern on warping, check out purchasing cryogenically treated rotors.....making them almost as hard as stainless steel...... I purchase mine through Diversified Cryogenics.... typically costs me about $15 each over normal rotor replacement pricing....I have been buying them for about 20 years for use on all my vehicles and never an issue.
