turn signals
hi members is there a thread on getting turn signals to work mine are all wired in but not blinking and when a test light is used the test light is dim and not blinking either from under the dash at the wiring connecter im using a gm column any suggestions ?

im thinking bad flasher , hopefully or bad ground

Sounds like a bad ground. You can never have enough of good grounds and make sure that the grounds are to bare metal and no paint between the connections.

Are you using LED lights? If so, are you using a flasher for LED lights?

What year/model of truck? ET is right about the electronic flasher IF you are using LEDs. Otherwise I agree about checking your light grounds. Don't forget the flasher ground which may be the metal can bracket on some non-electronic flashers.

well while testing things i was checking power at the steering wheel connections and unless i have the test light on the right side connector it wont flash at all the left side wont no matter what i do ????

If you are using the older style flasher they require a certain amount of current flow to heat up the by-metal spring to make it flash. Your test light does not draw enough current to make it work. regards Bruce
