I think I know the answer but want to make sure.
Will a LWB F100 work on a LWB F150?
Also if it is a 4x2 can the 4x4 parts bolt to it making it a 4x4?
I'd vote yes and yes

This gets interesting.
There is a difference in gauge of the frame material when you get above the F150 level. Mounts, etc. are in the same place and you already acknowledged the differences in engine brackets.
4WD front suspensions are leaf sprung vs. the coil spring suspension on 2WD models on F250 and larger.
Body parts will interchange between all F series and cabs will mount to all frames as long as you consider similar configuration.
F350's can be had in commercial, or cab and chassis configuration which has different rear frame rails.
Of course, all this assumes we are staying within the bullnose years. Bricknose and OBS frames are close, but the front bumper mounts differ.
My '84 2wd Flareside is the first year they were called an F150 instead of an F100, which I understood to be a change in name only...nothing else. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but anything I've read indicated that all Ford did was drop the "F100" name, and nothing more.
Just what I thought 100 & 150 be it 4x2 or 4x4 will swap and what I needed the answer to.
Got a bonus on the 250/350. I forgot about the leaf spring up front on the 4x4. I did know of the p/u & cc frame thing but never gave it much thought for the question I needed answering.

1977 was the first year for the F-150. 1983 was the last year of the F-100. I have a '81 F-100 Flareside. Came with a 300 with 3 in the tree. Brother had a '80 F-150 Flareside with 302/C4. Only difference between our trucks other than driveline and associated parts and the rims was he had pinstrips. Both were 4X2's.

Yeah, sorry...I may have worded that wrong. I didn't mean that 1984 was the first year for the F150, I just meant that 1984 was the first there that there wasn't an F100. My old man had a 1978 F150 4x4 so I knew they were around before 1984.
That's interesting though, as I thought all the 4x2 flareside trucks prior to 1984 were all F100's. I had a 1980 4x2 Flareside and that truck had F100 "Custom" emblems on it. It had a 351/4spd in it when I bought it, but it was originally a 300/4spd truck.
Anyway, I had it my head that the plain 4x2 Flareside and shortbox were all F100's up to 1983.

You can see here that the f100 GVWR is lower than a f150. I do not know all th details why though.
Tires? If you look at the bottom of that chart, the F100 had 195-75R15 tires standard, and the F150 had 215-75R15 standard, with 235's as optional. That alone would probably explain the GVWR differences. Maybe.

No F100's after 1983. US/Canada: No F100's with 4WD after 1976.
I would not use an F100 frame, especially if it's the "swiss cheese" version, with 4WD
1980/83 F100: Largest available V8: 302 2V
Some 1980/83 F100's have 5 lug wheels on a 4.50" bolt circle, different shocks and suspension parts than F150's. Some F100's have 10" x 2 1/2" rear brakes.
