Transmission troubleshooting question
Am trying to troubleshoot my 1960 Styleside F100 transmission (3 speed) to get parts on hand before taking it apart. When I drive the truck, there is a high probability that when I shift from 1st into 2d, as soo as I release the clutch, the transmission pops out of gear. When I go from 1st to 3rd gear, and then back to 2d and release the clutch, I have a 50% chance at staying in gear. This happens regardless of whether driving for 5 minutes or 1 hour.
I have seen other posts that make me think the issue is with the synchronizer and maybe the Snap Rings (C2AZ-710-B) or the Synchro shoes (C3AZ-7A044-C) are worn out. I know those parts are available on the web. I just want to make an informed shot at having all the parts and gaskets on hand so when we take it apart, I replace what is worn or broken and don't have to scramble finding parts. Any advice on what we should replace or look for when we open her up?
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks. Doug

You will also need a gasket set, small parts kit, front and rear seals.
