4th Gear Synchro
The Synchro is bad going into fourth gear. If I go from 3 to 4 and give it two seconds between shifts, it won't grind. I need to go from 5 to 4 on the hills. What is the best way to down shift without a syncrho? I have tried a few times double clutching, but it grinds a lot and I don't want to ruin it.

there is no way, the syncro is what you are shifting. if it is worn enough to make it grind, only relacing it will eliminate the grinding. as it wears more it will not stay in gear.it will jump out as soon as you release the clutch. make sure the bank account is ready for the parts cost. I had to replace 5th/rev since in this trans rev is also a syncro. parts alone were over $600.00 Best of luck. Phil
