I own a 2006 f350 super duty king ranch the left front tire fell off lug nuts were snapped check the passenger side and three of them were loose had flood Ford fix it because they are the ones that changed all 6 tires on it they are charging me money because they said it is my fault because I was letting the truck sit too long and not using it is the reason why they broke off is this true
The tires would go completely flat and probably rot away long before studs would break from sitting.
However, most service standards call for retorqueing the nuts after some number of miles. Did you have that done? Frankly, almost no one ever does.
And even then I've never had one snap. Have had a couple instances over the decades where a wheel started vibrating or making noise due to loose nuts. But have never had a catastrophic failure.
Did they also tell you your muffler fan fluid needed to be changed? Back, way back when I just got out of high school I worked for a Lincoln Mercury dealership doing new car prep and menial tasks like rotating tires. When I put this car on the lift and spread the forks to the frame I pushed them too close to the tires. When the car went up on the lift the forks put pressure on the tire. I rotated the tires, torqued the lug nuts and gave the customer his car. 3 days later he was back, clunking in both front tires. Took the hubcaps off and the lugs were loose - the rims & lugs were destroyed as well. Betting this is what happened to you
