So I'm messin' with the 2018 SD build and price for the umteenth time and boom! An operator regeneration control button option! $250. OUR VOICES HAVE BEEN HEARD, by the Mothership! Also new is a "manual shift on the stop" transfercase option.
Now if FORD would make power running boards a stand alone option instead of part of the Ultimate Package I might have to pull the trigger before they change their minds!! 😄
I was in both xlt and lariat builds. It was something I'd surely never seen before. I know there have been some threads on this wanted option due to the "ill timing" of regeneration some owners have spoke about. That's why it stood out.
No, it doesn't show in the sync screen, it shows on the dash under engine controls above the steering column. Just need Forscan and the added functionality, but then you must regenerate if auto is turned off. I have not seen as yet if auto regen is off (deselected) if it gives you warnings that regen is due? Problem being if someone else were to be driving the truck would they just ignore and plug up and ruin the DPF?
Its not even really what you want. You can tell it when to regen, but only once the DPF is at 100%. At that point, I'd rather just keep it on auto. It essentially allows you to delay the regen to a convenient time, once its completely full.
