hi all, still struggling with the exhaust system fault and getting the Notification Center exhaust fault error to clear. I’m doing the exhaust fluid system fault procedure for an idled motor, since I’m now idled. My truck is under gvw 14k, and the 4th step says after your tank pressure increases to 496, you should get a square wave pattern on the reduct_inj_dc pid within 90 seconds and that should last for 30 seconds. I’m not getting anything and my pid reads 0%. This is the only step in the procedure that isn’t working and I assume this step is what’s causing the computer to not reset. Anyone have any tips or input? I’d like to get this pos 10k brick back on the road and all three of the dealers and ford customer service just blow me off. In need of some tech help.
Not sure what size trucks you guys have but if it’s the procedure that requires you to drive it out it up on jack stands because it never works the way the service manual says. Secondly, are you guys reading kpa? I can’t remeber exactly but I think the egts need to be warmed up to 432 or 437 and tank psi should only be 70ish psi. I also believe you have to fill the def to 100% so the pcm can detect the refill but that may be the speed limited message.
Where it says go to 194 on the egt sensor try keeping the rpms elevated until you see the duty cycle happen. These procedure have never worked correctly the way it’s laid out. My other thought is, is your tool capable of showing the duty cycle?
Trying to reset forced idle with the metioned TSB. After the 194 deg pump comes on with 72 psi. I idle the truck i get one initial fat wave but never get a square wave regardless of how many times i try to do it. Still in forced idle!

Reason: Typo
I had the 50 limit on my truck and it took the tech a number of times to reset the computer. I have seen the videos of what yhou are talking about. I guess you need to be patient. I believe you need to let the truck cool down between attempts to reset the truck.

i have been more than patient, done about 50 times me and the tech that works for me.. Even trying it pretending I did get the square wave and I still doesn't clear. There must be some perimeter that it doesn't like however I compared it to a sister truck and I can't find anything out of whack. There has to be some technical reason it's not cycling the injector.
My ford dealer replaced my injector and it was a pain to get the error to clear. You may have a problem with a connection in the def tank. Maybe the pump is not working right.

They had to replace my injector because it was plugged. Don't have any idea how that happened. then it took them about 3 drive cycles to clear the code. Ford has better software than Forscan to remove codes. Maybe you should just bight the bullet and get the truck to the dealer.
MUST HAVE LATEST PCM FLASH! After flashing PCM with latest flash EC3A-12A650-VA was able to perform drive cycle first try! would NOT work with EC3A-12A650-BE flash.
