2017 Super Duty Sync 3 AIPM Potential Issues
Not on an IPhone 6, IPhone 6 Plus. IPad Air, Ipad Mini 4 and not an IPod Touch all with latest Apple Software
The hope was Sync 3 Version 2.2 would fix the issue
Yesterday my servicing dealer installed Version 2.2 via IDS install
The 2.2 version did not fix the issue and now when the system hangs with An attempt to use USB music, the entire system has other issues with Sync voice commands not working and phone calls can not be made nor received
The dealer is at a loss to get this fixed
I have now asked them to ask Ford to replace the AIPM module
Am I on the right track?
All of these devices worked perfectly with no issues on the previous 2015 Super Duty Sync 2 system but never have worked with Sync 3

My USB audio works fine from a jump drive. It takes a while to respond the first time it reads the drive.

My understanding i the 2.2 upgrade is only for 2016 and below vehicles and adds nothing to the 2017 model and in fact may do harm.
It is using Apple Devices for streaming cloud music come from any number of sources and preserving the factory navigation and weather etc
Thanks for yur reply
I think the AIPM is faulty
"now when the system hangs with An attempt to use USB music, the entire system has other issues with Sync voice commands not working and phone calls can not be made nor received"
I observed the same behavior when plugging in a jump drive with 4,600 music files. It took many minutes to complete the indexing, and Sync 3 was all tied up in knots and would not respond to commands until the indexing was completed.

Still all of these devices worked flawlessly with the same size Apple Cloud Music library on Sync 2 on my previous 2015. Also many times I am just streaming content from my web server or using Vox or Tidal
I am highly disappointed in Sync 3 as it should not be so unreliable
One other day I lost both Bluetooth and GPS... both returned after restarting the truck.
Hopefully these issues do not get worse.
