I want a 97-03 F150. but I need advice.
first up. I have devised a plan if the stock engine fails me. I will put in a Dodge Cummins 12 valve and transmission. these swaps have been done. and I have read that youll need a heaver duty axle. i feel like a axle from a 99-04 f 250 or 350 truck. and doing so ill find a dually and make a 97-03 dually f150. then ill take the bed off and make a flat bed. i think with this setup i might be able to do some heaver towing.( i don't tow very much but i want the capabilities) i think this might work.
Second. i want to make a removable 'truck bed sides'. where they are hinged to the side of the bed and can be bolted in a up or down position depending what my needs are.
criticism is very much welcomed.
A better swap would be a 6.8, the Cummins wet weight is over 1100lb + the transmission, what about the frame? Suspension? Axels? And other nick nacks that will help support that behemoth?
