Busy with my truck, and now saw the strange sort of half a football on the cover of the airfilter, I think I've seen a post about it long ago,but forget about it, what purpose does it serve?
is it any good?
Actually, its some fancy german word or something. It was found that they actually improve flow. The gist of it if i remember right, it causes the air to swirl entering the intake. That said, i found no real difference between swapping lids, one cut, the other not.
I've read through it, and I think that if the difference is that little, I don't change a thing.
I've converted gas trucks to diesels and so on in the past, but now I came to the point that I see that not everything what's done by the engeneers and involves thousands of dollars R&D and testing could be done better by a private person.
There are things if you go for something very very specialistic, or if you want to personalize a truck, that will do, because manufacturers do aim for the big public. and the big public doesn't alwais need what you need. I see a point in that position.
But for my truck, I leave this as it is.
