Best 3" adjustable hitch

What 3" shaft adjustable hitch are you running?

Pros, cons, cost, and pics would be helpful. I like the weigh safe ones but $300+ seems high for a hitch...

Those are also in the $350 range without the weight scale the other hitch provides. Any reason for the preference?

I have Gen-Y 3" hitch 9" drop, 32 000 pounds towing (of course truck isn't capable of it)

Not sure what the best is but I recently bought a Weighsafe 3" shank 6" drop adjustable hitch. It is nice having your own scale to easily get your target hitch weight without visiting a commercial scale.

The Weigh Safe is my favorite and what I run. In fact I just ordered a second (2" version) for my wife's new SUV. They are indeed pricy but all aluminum/stainless plus the scale is a real plus for me. If you haven't seen my thread about the discount, Trunk Monkey is still doing the forum pricing for us. 10% off and free shipping. The code is FTE.

I thought I saw somewhere that you could get the locking pin keyed the same way as the lock on the hitch itself. Do I have to buy them together as a set to get that?

If you order both, just mention in the notes section of the order and they will have them keyed alike when shipped to you. Or you can call them during business hours and request it. Either way, they will take care of it for you...

I second the gen y drop hitch. They occasionally have returned ones on amazon for less money. Mine arrived in perfect shape. I picked up the torsion hitch but haven't towed with it yet. Ordering an ATC toy hauler this week

I have the Weighsafe 2 1/2" shank 10" drop, but now I'm second guessing it as it has no weight distribution of sway control options.
My 250 SD is good for 14900 lbs and I'm looking at buying a 14000 lb plus boat. even though the SD are rated without weight distribution I see most people are hesitate to tow without one. So I guess consider your trailer weight in your decision. But dam it looks good good on the back of the truck.

Does the 2.5” weighsafe have much slop on these trucks?? Can’t stand the 2” with the adapter I have right now when pulling my boat....not towing anything heavy with it so I’m looking at the one without the scale. Thanks!!

Unfortunately, all brands of ball mount have slop in the Ford receivers. Both the 2.5" and 3" Ford receivers are a bit oversized making no ball mount a perfect fit.
