Oil burning

If your engine started burning oil suddenly it can be a number of things. To begin with, keep it simple. Check to see if you have any codes.
Next, it may simply be a bad plug or plug wire. Swap the plug wire with another one and if it fixes the problem you know what it was. Of course change or clean the oiled plug first. If the truck hasn't had a full tune up in a while I would start with that anyway. New rotor, distributor cap, plugs, oil and air and oil filters. If the plug wires are original I would change them too.
If that doesn't fix the issue you will need to consider something has gone awry inside the engine. Ie: valve seal, broken or stuck ring. I've even seen a piston with a tiny hole in it do the same thing. A compression test and a leak down test will give you a good idea of what may have happened.

I did do a complete tune-up including distributor cap and new plugs and check the wires. Did not fix the problem. Low compression in that cylinder. Just trying to find out what the problem maybe and if anybody has an idea if they have to pull the motor to fix it.
