Hi all - is there a quick way to ID which engine is in the newer Escapes at a glance? I am finding some sellers do not know and/or confuse which engine is in their vehicle. Thanks!
The pictures in the post above, are both the engine compartment views of a 2017 Ford Escape. The top picture is that of one equipped with the 2.0L Ecoboost engine. The bottom picture is that of one equipped with the 1.5L Ecoboost engine. Hope this helps.
Thanks! I am only interested in the 2.0L - funny how many people don't even know what engine they have in the vehicle they are trying to sell.. They just say "ecoboost"
Sadly many Escape owners treat these vehicles as appliances... A to B.... put gas in it and ignore those annoying idiot lights... those are for "gearheads" right? Folks like those on these sights know better. Clean cars that have been maintained hold their value better and they last longer for those that want to exercise the odometer a bit. Knowing how to work on your "appliance" is smart. My wife still gets compliments on her 2014 "S" model because it is spotless and runs perfectly. So far, the overall maintenance on this little vehicle is in parallel with the level of maintenance I have done two previously owner Camrys. Just washed the Escape today and besides a few road chips on the bumper and my son's inability to keep the seats clean in the rear, it looks great and rides very well especially since I put on the new tires a few thousand miles ago. It's not the perfect vehicle but it certainly isn't like Fords from 20 years ago.
