Hello All- Plan on replacing my existing carpet with some new molded carpet from LMC. Currently I've got carpet also on the back wall behind the seat up to the rear window. It was like that when I bought it. I pulled back some of the carpet and the installer definitely didn't skimp on the glue. Does the existing glue need to come off or can I just spray more on there during installation? If I have to remove, any idea how to get it off without damaging the paint? I've read some that the glue can be really tough to remove. I also bought new bucket seats from shop4seats.com and will post some pics of the install when I get them in and completed. Thanks in Advance!

Goo-Gone or a can of 3M adhesive remover. Soak a rag and let it set for a long while. When gooey, remove by scraping with something like a credit card.. remove any left with a green scrubby.
When I got my 1979 F250 4x4 12 years ago the po had carpet up the back wall of the cab. When I tore it out I found that the rear window leaked a bit , the carpet held the water and the cab had started to rot out.
initially I hadn't planned on any type of insulation or backing, but after reading some more on here I am considering it. Seems pretty simple to put in. Not so interested in the heat portion, since there's no AC to begin with but it might help the noise a little. My mufflers dump right behind the cab.
Rob8210- I sure hope that's not the case with mine when I pull it out!
Check out stock interiors on the internets, it came highly recommended in another thread here, has a ton of color choices... Just if you haven't made up your mind yet.
