Moonroof stuck going on 2 weeks in shop

Moonroof on truck would not open, kept getting in bind where sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't. After several back and forth with the shop they are now replacing my tracks( I think). Tech told me he has to take my driver and passenger seats out to get sunroof out. Not high on all this....Tech seems cool but been a run around from service center. Worst part is truck is sitting in smoke filled garage with windows down and prob getting scratched by everyone that walks by lol. The last four trucks I've owned the only time I put the moonroof down was on test drive....Next one won't get one!!!

Why would they have to take the seats out? My wife’s F150 just had the sunroof replaced because it leaked and the dealer had it for about half a day. They said it was really simple to replace, they said they probably had more time adjusting it than they did replacing it. They didn’t even have to take the headliner out, I think it comes out the top.

I have no clue, that's what tech said seats and center console had to come out? He said headliner as well....All sounds like a leak waiting to happen!! Wonder if they will install cab lights while they are in there?!

Makes no sense! I was told it was pretty simple to replace. So far it doesn’t leak, at least onto the headliner... I’ve noticed drips into the drip tray but the headliner is still dry.

I have the same issue. My moon roof tracks are on order now for a month. I will check next week to see if they are in. The dealer was stating the headliner, and parts of the interior all has to come out to get the panels and tracks out. What a PITA.

Must be some difference in taking just the tracks out vs taking the entire sunroof out?

Dealer says in order to take the tracks out, the panels need to come out with all the rest of headliner and pieces/parts.

Had my moonroof fixed last summer with the same issue. Tracks had broken.

I just experienced moonroof track issues and the dealer advised me of no available parts until 2/28. Fortunately, I was able to get mine to close and await parts.
