Forcing air

This will probably stir up a lot of discussion so here goes...
I have a 89 f350 7.3 idi, my first diesel, was a bit apprehensive when we bought it last fall, not being turbocharged, having dealt with the military 6.2 , pure slow. I was impressed by the power the 7.3 makes and having driven it for a year now on various vacations and such would compare it to the old 460 as a pretty good match, with better fuel mileage of course, that being said and being the gear head I am, here are my thoughts on making more power and fuel mileage out of it.
This engine uses a fuel pump that delivers fuel at a constant rate according to engine rpm and throttle position, this doesn't work very well with a turbocharger because as boost ramps up fuel needs to also, witch makes more boost that needs more fuel that makes big horse power, can't do that with a linear fuel pump.
Now seems to me that a linear fuel pump would need a constant boost rate to work with to make power without wasting or starving for fuel... yes ?
All you turbo guys that make power with the idi's flood the engine with fuel at idle and low rpm until airflow and boost ramps up to make power then shut it down before you lean it out to far and break it
I am hoping to build an intake to support a 4-71 sized blower low in the lifter valley and keep it under the hood, make about 10lbs boost maybe a little more, Crank up the fuel rate to match and that would give me decent power and fuel mileage while keeping it reliable
Let me know what you think. I believe that I have a solid idea going here . . . . Thanks

you can add more power by adding methanol injection. 20% more power on windsheild washer fluid. they come with 1 gallon tanks, but 5 gallon tanks are more desirable. typical kits come with 3 nozzle sizes and your engine would probally use the 250ml nozzle. you have to use a kit that triggers off vacuum instead of boost. if you need more power, you can go with 50/50 methanol / water.

methonal injection will give more power, more mpg, clean your engine, and engine will run cooler.

of course, the cost of operating the meth injection is a factor as well as the initial cost of the kit.

do not get a boost triggered kit, as that will not work.

must be vacume triggered and there out there.

The five gallon tank would be a good idea, probably not going to run out of that much in 500 miles, just top it off at each fuel stop. Is there enough vacuum on a n/a idi to draw it in? or would I need a pump to inject it at like half to two thirds throttle and up?
good idea, thanks

a methonal kit has

a controler
a pump
some nozzles
tubing
a tank

the controller monitors vacume

based on the vaccine, the controller drives the pump
the varying pump pressure provides the spray ratio needed

Youtube Google methonal injection kits to get a better idea of what this is all about.
