I have a 2000 F-350 CC LB 7.3 auto, hypertec tuner, garret ball baring, turbo, ASI intake.
The problem I am having is I have absolutly no power. I came back from a run from Minn. and everything was fine. When I got home I installed a 100 gallon fuel tank, with a fuel pump and lines that go into my filler neck. I went out on a run this morning and I have absolutly no power. At 65 my pyro is running 800 degrees and boost is running at 5 psi which is normal for me. At full throtle I get 900 degrees and 10 psi which is not anywhere close to normal. So I figured maybe my fuel filter and so I stopped and changed that. No improvement. Do you guys have any other thoughts??? !!!!
Sorry about not using the search feature I am on the road and my wife is typing this out for me.
Forgive my ignorance, but how do you check for boost leaks?
You have to pressurize the turbo system via air compressor. Most plug off the turbo inlet and force air into the turbo and use a soapy water mixture and spray it on the turbo and intake and check for any leaks. Its a crude method but it gets the job done.
Just got back from my montana run. The problem is the elbow in the X pipe that goes to the map sensor. It came out once before but it was at high boost, this time it must have happened when i started the truck. This elbow is no longer a tight fit. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
the easiest way i can describe to you how to find it is. Look on the passanger side firewall mounted to the hvac duct (in the engine compartment) there is a sensor mounted to a bracket. This sensor has a hose and an electrical connector. Follow the hose to the xpipe. The elbow is about 1/4 " diameter.
