It was a shtick from a Seinfeld episode, wasn't sure anyone would catch the humor.

A lot of things actually annoy me more than a Ford called a stepside, like guys who say they have a 390 big block. WTH, was there a 390 small block I missed?

Cellophane, Kleenex, Xerox etc were copyright trade names that became generic just because.

There was a pretty famous radio announcer way back in the day named Dick Joy. "Gay" was a perfectly good word, and used reasonably often if the old radio programs are any guide. It's sort of sad to hear it used in an innocent way, they are not referring to homosexuals or buggery.

Enola Gay, the B-29 that dropped the Hiroshima A bomb, was named by pilot Lt. Colonel Paul W. Tibbetts, as Enola Gay was his mother.

Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers starred in a film called: The Gay Divorcee (RKO:1934).

George Sanders & Wendy Barrie starred in a film called: The Gay Falcon (RKO:1941).

Paris France has been referred to as Gay Paree for decades.

While exceedingly rare at FTE, it could theoretically happen.

Back in the 1980s, in my Air Force days, there was a SAC wing commander named Colonel Richard Head. We called him Dick Head - but not to his face!

Lol, I’ve been know to get off topic also and it does tend to make it more interesting to interact here. Just thought I’d mention it before the FTE police got after us. And look what has happened, mrpotatohead has already gotten offended.
