The one it was attached to? I'd put an E4OD in it. You would have to source a cross member, and a drive shaft.
The C4, C6, AOD/E were available, or have the correct bell housing. I would go with the AOD/E after an E4OD for the mileage; choosing based on whether I use stock fuel injection or not. C6 for raw towing power. It won't win any races, or save at the pump.
it is a 3/4 ton with a 300 straight six it is in a 67. the previous owner took the original motor out and i am not sure what it was but he put the 300 straight out of a 91 in the truck and transferred the carb set up to the engine. it had a 4 spd manual trans in it but the tranny died so they took the tranny out and never put anything back in and parked it for a few years. then gave it to me. i put a 5 spd manual in to get it moving. it is missing some bell housing bolts. it will be used for hauling loads . the clutch linkage is kinda micky mouse and it needs a new radiator , the old one is half jb weld and it overheats after a few minutes it also needs an external fuel pump, but it was free yea. it will be a wood hauling truck slow and steady.
