I might be losing it but I could have sworn I used to see the current gear on the right side of the Tach Gauge. I can see it if I put it in Manual Shift but I thought I could see the current gear while in D before. It isn't there now. Am I nuts? I have the C type display.
It's a great feature to have - it'd be really tough to get in a GM diesel and NOT have this feature or a turbo gauge. Maybe the 2020 Heavy Duty will have these features, lol.
Another thing I recently learned is that while in D you can use the up/down button to lock out gears
so it doesn't up shift to the point the engine is lugging. I use it to downshift gears when going down
hill to let the engine do the braking (if I haven't engaged the exhaust brake function).
