i pulled my dipstick out the other day just to check my oil, when i was putting it back in it stop about 80% of the way in and won't go in any further i have no idea what it could be and I'm not sure what to do. it just won't go all the way in. Can i drive with out the dipstick?
Would be real easy to get administrative points LOL!
With my long dipstick, I have to hold it gently but firmly and help guide it into the hole. Otherwise I might bend it at an improper angle. I think I can get away for saying that in this context.
But agree you should look underneath first and make sure the tube has not come out of the block/pan. You could drive without the dipstick, but not with the tube disconnected from the pan. Well, you could, but it will quit running when at the end of the 13 quart dribble trail.
