Security/Remote Access for '18s
What can we do for remote access in an 18?
Still need the Perimeter Plus?
can we still add a blinking LED?
What do we use for phone interface?
Ordering an 18 to replace a wrecked 17 this week...

Remote Access has been discontinued. Furthermore, the new Vehicle Security Systems for the 2018 model years have changed and don't even support Remote Access at all. You can still get the blinking LED.
FordPass is ONLY available on these trucks if built with the capability during production, meaning you cannot add FordPass later to trucks that don't have it.
SmartLink is what is coming that is replacing Remote Access. As far as I know I don't think it does alarm notifications like Remote Access, but then again Ford has done a poor job so far with providing a list of features so I could be wrong.

I used the modem out of my 2016 F150 for the remote access since my 2019 F250 didn't come with sync connect.
Wish I could add ford pass to my 2019 F250 but Ford doesn't offer anything.
My wife has sync connect in her 2019 Ranger and it does notify about alarm triggers.
Really had to go with an after market alarm system to get phone support.
I doubt ford is going to come out with anything to work with 2019
