Had anyone added a wireless charging pad to their Super Duty? Something in the same line as the OEM model in the front pouch of the center console or one in the center console. I was thinking about purchasing the OEM one in the front pouch, but its 199. I think it can be had or something similar for less and just plug in the USB port there. Any pics or ideas from anyone?
Just an FYI on the OEM one, I wouldn't waste your money IMO. I thought it would be great when I had my 2017, I have not used it in my 2020, partially because the metal plate on my phone case for the magnetic holder prevents it from working. It will start to charge, and then disconnect, and connect again, over and over. Plus with an iPhone 11, the device is just too large to conveniently get to it in the cubby. Maybe on a long road trip, but then I would be plugged into to USB anyway.
Just my thoughts after living with the new truck for 2 months.
There is a guy who 3D prints charging pads for our trucks, has a few different configurations. He goes by ShawnTexan products on FB. I have a double charger for road trips and the small singe cubby one for everyday use. Works really well.
The 2020 charger is not really very practical, my iPhone 8 is already a tight fit, bigger phones likely won’t fit. It’s difficult to get phone in and out kind of have to pull forward with one finger and pull out. Charge time is slow about 1/3 as fast as what cord does. And lastly you loose the junk spot for anything but phone. Clearly a poorly thought out afterthought by Ford. I’m running a cord... to bad they couldn’t have put a usb connect in center console or put wireless charge on console cover.
I use this and love it. I removed the rubber mat in the center dash area and mounted it there. You can still see your phone and it is easy to lock in and release. I need to figure out how to run the cable to the USB port under the dash somehow. I am sure there is a way.

I have something very similar to that product. It can be used in the cup holder or air vent. It has auto locking arms. It's more practical than OEM .
I bought a cheap round charger off Amazon and removed the insert by the dash speaker, cut a hole in the insert to fit the charger and then epoxied the charger in place. Put the rubber insert back in and reinstalled. Now I just toss my phone in the insert and it charges.
