Does anyone know how I can disable the daytime running lights on my 2011 F150 xtr 4 X 4 from Canada? The VIN is 1FTFW1EFOBFC80658, which shows it was made in USA (right?). But it has a "built in Canada" sticker on the drivers door.
Well crap, I was hoping that it would be something simple like just removing the DRL relay. But if that's what I have to do - so be it. Thanks for the reply. I'll contact the dealer and let everyone know if there is another way or not.
You can try Forscan, I used it to turn off the DRL in my 2013 FORScan Home
It is a free program, you will just need to get the adapter and they tell you what you need.
But on my E150 I gave the guy $20 at the local Ford Dealer.
You can disable them or change them to your fogs or signals for DRLs if you want with Forscan. Your truck was not built in Canada. Your door sticker should have a maple leaf on it which means it was built for the Canadian market but wasn't built in Canada.

Ok I understand it now. Yes it does have the maple leaf sticker. Thank you for clearing that up. The salesman didn't know that either.
Great news! I found a way to disable the DRL on "Utube" where all I had to do is unplug the connectors that are behind the splash shield on the front side of the rad support. But thank you for the info about Forscan. Cause I still need to delete the speed limiter (it's set at 100MPH right now).

You may have done something else as well. Your disconnect method works for 2010 and prior but 2011+ trucks use a BCM that controls the DRL function.
The speed limiter is there for a reason, but if your dead set on changing it, you would need a tuner. Forscan can't do it.
