Tuner Recommendations

I have a 2003 F350 with 7.3L. First diesel and no clue. Few people have me leaning towards Edge

For tuning look at a PHP Hydra.

I have the edge, but only use it for digital gauges.
My php is where the tunes are.

The benefit to the hydra is the ability to change tunes with the chip still installed as you make changes to the truck and you can run tunes from different tuners on the same chip.

Another chip option is a ts6 however if you make changes to the truck or want to try someone else's tunes you need to remove the chip and send it out for a reburn.

How many miles on truck? Auto or Manual? Other mods done?

You should probably slide over to the 7.3 forum and do some research. This question will get a lot of different answers. The main thing you have to think about is whether or not you want go with custom tuning or canned tunes. This will depend on how wild or mild you plan on being with this truck. There are endless possiblities in tuning, and usually with cutoms tunes, no two trucks are the same. I had a DP tuner on my old7.3 and loved it. They have come a long way since then, but are still in business and can hook you up with whatever you want.

Do a little bit of reading and get an idea of what you want to do with this truck.

I have 105,000 miles. Auto. I’m a conservative driver. I’m just looking for better fuel economy for daily driving and towing my camper. It has a leveling kit and 35” tires. K&N air filter.

I figured I’d hear a bunch of different things. Really looking to increase fuel economy without going to smaller tires.

Definitely cruise over to the 1999-2003 7.3L forum like DieselBeast01 recommended. Lots of information and differing opinions. You can get a list of some of the more popular tuners and call them to discuss what you want and go from there. You can go big business (Banks, Edge, Bully Dog, etc.) or you can go small business (DP, PHP, Gearhead, 1023, etc.). Each one has its pros and cons and only you can decide what is best for you.
