Quick '01 -> '05 Headlight Conversion Question

Do I need to get an adapter harness for my '01 to use '05 headlamps?
I understand about trimming and whatnot, but I haven't seen good info on the wiring.

Also, how does it work to adjust the lamp position?

You’ll need the adapter harness or new bulb pigtails because the older ones use a different style bulb (I can’t think of the numbers right now). When you secure the top of the light to the newly reconfigured header panel, the new lights adjust just like factory. I think the adjustment takes a 5 or 5.5mm 12 point socket.

You will need a 9007 to 9008 adapter harness. There’s not much to understand it just plugs in to you current 9007 plug then the new end plugs in to the head light bulb. The lights can only be adjusted up and down there is no side to side adjustment. There is an adjustment rod on the back of the light tightening the rod adjust the light down loosing it move it up. The proper procedure for aiming the lights park in front of an atleast 8 foot wide wall on flat level ground, measure the the center of the headlight from the ground, then mark the height on the wall with tape then adjust so the cutoff of the light is just below that line.this is the adapter I used.

Found the harnesses on amazon. They have a million different options but some look much better made than others.

The first warm day we get this is getting done. Just not sure when that warm day will be.
