Tailgate opening measurements

Tailgate opening measurements
I'm welding my bed sides on and need the width of the tailgate opening for a 61 F100 Unibody. Width at the bottom and width at the top. I'm thinking it should be 67 and something inches.

I was able to find a local Unibody and measured 67.5 at the top and the bottom. This also had a aftermarket tailgate on there that didn't fit very well but was better than how mine fit when I bolted it on the first time. I thought there was a taper in the opening but it was only my tailgate.
