The side vent windows. Both of mine had the handle that latches break off and whistle like crazy while I'm driving. I see that it looks like one anchor point or a pin on the outside that holds them in. But didn't look like a screw or bolt. Anyone know how to take them off? And if I can buy a replacement window? I didn't see anything on my initial search.
Good question Bill, but don't have a answer. Sure someone on here had to do it and knows the procedures. You could check with an automotive glass shop as I'm sure they deal with this issue all the time, especially with break ins'.
Check your local Craigslist for somebody parting an obs. Also, the side bent window has one or 2 bolts down in the door. Door panel has to come off. It should pull right out.
They sell new glass with the latches on them. I bought 2 new for ? I don't remember how much. they came with new rubber too. I also have a good used set if needed.
I think there is a bolt behind the door panel as well.
I've never disassembled one before but I was also thinking there was a tiny roll pin that goes through the handle assembly to hold it to the shaft. Might be pretty easy to knock it out and replace just the handle.
