I was coming home from my post office run for the wife and suddenly the heat got real cold and the temp starts going up on the torque pro. I made it home with 227* on the gauge. First thing I checked was the fluids as I just made some mods to the cooling system(got rid of all the plastic Y pipes with metal). Let the temps get down and started it up,no water moving in the degas. Rot rho, whats the chances the impeller went south. It's going have to wait cause I'm not doing it till it warms up a little. Being it's a 03 production date, it most likely has the small pump diameter and have to be ordered. I can't remember if I have to pull the rad on it,don't think so, I just hope the fan doesn't give me a headache coming off. This might be a job for the kid to do,he needs the knowledge. At least that's what I'm going to tell him.
What i keep telling mine, the pump can be got at oreilleys if you got one, lifetime warranty,or the ones here keep the small diam in stock, then no shipping back and forth if goes bad. You dont have to pull the radiator.

Radiator can stay in, the fan shroud comes out though so it helps to take the two upper support brackets for the rad loose.
I got my fan clutch off with a 1-7/8" crowfoot on a 24" half inch breaker bar, but if you have an air hammer the Lisle tool makes life significantly easier. The crowfoot was $25, the Lisle wrench/handle (not the set, just the 1-7/8) was around $60.
Lisle 43410 and 43370 are the wrnech and handle P/Ns.
I have the fan tool. Got it when I bought Big Blu. It's coming back to me now. I work on too many different vehicles to remember them all. I think I had to modify it cause I broke it. I'll look tonight. I just told my son that he's got school this weekend,I got the strangest look..........
Are there better water pumps out there aside from BPD billet one that are upgraded over stock? Maybe with metal impellers? I have seen very few that weren't with a plastic impeller.
Pull the thermostat and see what it looks like. My buddy's truck kept overheating like that and his was a parts store thermostat that got stuck closed.

I'd like to hear a little more about getting rid of the plastic stuff and what you used or where you got it. It's getting time for me to replace those hoses and I'd like to never have to mess with it again. Start another thread if you wish. Thanks

You still running a 20lb cap, can you tell us all whats the benefits, and downside you seen if any?
I made the y pipe out of copper pipe I had lying around and soldered it up. I couldn't justify spending the much money on hoses when they where in good shape.
It's a Mishimoto. But I didn't think of that. Good catch, I will check it when it warms up a little.
I just had this issue with my Hi- temp stat from Mishimoto. Put an OEM one back in. No problems. I got cardboard in front of the radiator now. I'm going to stay OEM on the stats for now on. Going to invest in a grille cover or just put cardboard in front of the radiator. That's it for me.
Don't use cardboard. From places like HD, Lowes, or an actual sign store get a piece of the corrugated plastic sign material. Under $5 and won't get all funky when wet, you can hang it from the support.
