How about non-factory glow plugs? While it's open, I wonder should I replace them all. Since this is a replace but it's not broken, I dont' want to shed too much money. One is $10, but 80 is $80, then the harnesses, around $35 I think. The point is spending $80 is not a problem, but spending unnecessarily $80 is rather not very smart right?
Unless it's a mfg you know is reputable from research I would spend the extra on OEM. Having an inferior quality GP drop a tip is going to cost you legions more than what you saved.
That is one of those "OEM" only parts in my book.

That would really suck to drop a tip and then have the mess that would make.
Just took my 05 6.0 in. Had a low boost code and a glow plug issue. Turns out the #6 glow plug was out. Mechanic recommended I change all plugs on the left side and, the harness at the same time as more often than not when you try and disconnect a glow plug, the connector on the harness breaks too. OEM harness was $60 and the plugs were $11 each. The bummer part is I found our my low boost pressure was caused by a bag EGR valve and, I had two injectors that were bad. Needless to say the injectors are $300 each. Had the intake cleaned, turbo cleaned, new oil and EGR cooler. Only cost me $6300.....Ouch.
